Gamzic: Building the Future of Esports in South Africa

In a country overflowing with raw talent and untapped potential, one platform is stepping up to change the game — literally. Gamzic is more than just an esports platform. It's a movement. A community. A launchpad for the next generation of competitive gamers across South Africa and beyond.

Founded by Sibusiso Shongwe (aka 2Sevenic), Gamzic was born from a simple but powerful belief: that gaming has the power to unite people, build confidence, and create opportunities — regardless of age, background, or skill level. Whether you're a seasoned pro who's been grinding ranked matches for years, a curious student picking up a controller for the first time, or an older gamer rediscovering the thrill of competition, Gamzic is your home.

And the best part? Getting started costs nothing. Gamzic is a community-driven platform where signing up, creating your profile, and jumping into community matches is completely accessible. As the platform grows, we'll introduce premium tournaments, new game titles, and competitive experiences that take things to the next level — but the door to competitive gaming will always be open. If you have the passion, we have the platform.

Our Mission: Gaming for Everyone

Esports in South Africa is at an inflection point. The infrastructure is growing. The appetite is there. But what's been missing is an accessible, organized, and welcoming platform that brings it all together — matches, community, and education — in one place.

That's exactly what Gamzic delivers. We serve:

  • Students and schools — School vs. school competitions that channel youthful energy into structured, competitive play
  • College and university teams — Campus rivalries taken to the digital arena
  • Beginner gamers — A safe, welcoming space where nobody is judged for being new
  • Professional and semi-pro players — A platform to compete seriously and get noticed
  • Avid gamers of all ages — From teens to adults who simply love gaming
“You don't need to be a pro to belong here. You just need to love the game.”

What We're Building

Gamzic is not just a scoreboard. It's a full-stack esports ecosystem designed to grow with the community it serves — and right now, it's buzzing with activity. Here's what's live and what's coming:

Matches — The Heart of Gamzic

Matches are where the action is. We consistently organize and host competitive matches where young people come together to play, learn, and compete. Players register, get matched up, and play. It's that straightforward — no complicated sign-ups, no barriers to getting started. Our current community matches are open to everyone, and our focus right now is on Rocket League — a game that's fast, exciting, and perfect for players at every skill level. We're running matches regularly, and the community is growing with every session.

Coming Soon: School vs. School

This is where things get really exciting. We believe some of the best untapped gaming talent sits in high schools and colleges across South Africa. In the coming months, Gamzic will be launching organized school vs. school and college vs. college competitions — giving students a reason to practice, strategize, and represent their institution with pride. It's going to be competitive, it's going to be fun, and it's going to build real teamwork skills. Watch this space.

The Social Platform

Beyond tournaments, Gamzic is a social platform where gamers connect. Create a profile, follow other players, join teams, share your match highlights, and stay plugged into the South African esports scene. Think of it as the hub where the entire community comes together, and as we grow, so will the features — chat, leaderboards, clans, and more.

Why Rocket League?

We chose Rocket League as our starting game for good reason. It's accessible — the concept of “car soccer” clicks instantly. It's cross-platform, so you can play on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch. And most importantly, it has one of the highest skill ceilings in gaming, meaning there's always room to improve, always something new to learn, and always a reason to keep competing.

Most of our current players are first-timers. Young people who have never played Rocket League before, let alone competed in a match. We teach them how to play, guide them through the basics, and watch them grow into confident competitors. That transformation — from “I don't know how to play” to “I just won my first match” — is what drives everything we do.

Events That Bring People Together

Gamzic isn't just online. We believe in the power of in-person events — the energy of a room full of gamers, the cheers when someone scores an impossible goal, the camaraderie that forms when strangers bond over shared competition.

We've already been hosting events at loveLife, a youth centre in eMalahleni (Witbank), Mpumalanga. These community sessions bring together young people from the area for competitive gaming matches that are fun, safe, and inspiring — with no cost to attend. The energy is electric. People who have never held a controller before walk in curious and leave as competitors. That's the power of what we're doing.

And this is just the beginning. We're actively planning to host events at more venues, more cities, and more communities across South Africa. Every match we host is a step closer to making esports a mainstream, respected, and accessible activity for everyone.

Growing Fast, Dreaming Bigger

Gamzic is growing — and growing fast. What started as a vision to bring structure to South African esports is quickly becoming a reality. We're reaching more communities, hosting more matches, and building a platform that will serve gamers not just in South Africa, but across the continent and beyond. As we scale, the platform will evolve — from open community matches to premium competitive tournaments and new paid game experiences — all under one roof.

Our roadmap is ambitious but clear:

  • School vs. school competitions — Launching in the coming months, bringing structured inter-school esports to South Africa
  • More games — Expanding beyond Rocket League into new titles that our community wants to compete in, including premium game experiences
  • Premium tournaments — Competitive, high-stakes tournaments with entry fees and prize pools for players ready to take their game to the next level
  • More venues — Hosting events at community centres, schools, and esports arenas across the country
  • More features — Leaderboards, team management, livestream integration, and a full social experience
  • More reach — Opening registration to players and teams from other African countries
